Пам’ятник отаману Головатому

Монумент, споруджений в Одесі у Старобазарному сквері на честь українського козачого отамана, одного із засновників Чорноморського козачого війська та ініціатора переселення чорноморських козаків із території сучасної України на Кубань.

Історія появи пам’ятника саме в Одесі пов’язана з подіями кінця XVIII століття.

Антон Головатий один із отаманів чорноморських козаків, що боролися проти турків разом із російськими солдатами при взятті Хаджибея. Це військове формування було створено російським урядом у 1787 році із підрозділів Війська вірних запорожців (основа – колишні запорізькі козаки). A monument erected in Odessa in Starobazarny Square in honor of the Ukrainian Cossack chieftain, one of the founders of the Black Sea Cossack army and the initiator of the resettlement of the Black Sea Cossacks from the territory of modern Ukraine to the Kuban.

The history of the appearance of the monument in Odessa is connected with the historical events of the end of the 18th century.

Anton Golovaty is one of the chieftains of the Black Sea Cossacks who fought against the Turks along with Russian soldiers during the capture of Khadzhibey. This military formation was created by the Russian government in 1787 from the units of the Troops of the Faithful Cossacks (the basis is the former Zaporozhye Cossacks). The territory between the Southern Bug and the Dniester was assigned to the troops.
